Who we are

Leander Heating & Cooling is a licensed HVAC contractor serving Leander and Cedar Park, Texas. Texas license number TACLA024632E. This policy covers leanderhcs.com and the forms on it.

What we collect

Information you give us

When you become a member, submit a referral, or contact us, you may provide your name, street address, phone number, email address, and details about your home and its heating and cooling system. We ask for your address because membership depends on which community you live in, and we ask about your system because it determines what you actually need.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours keeps a basic technical record of your visit: your general location (city level), the pages you view, how you arrived, and the type of device and browser you are using. We use Google Analytics for this. It sets cookies in your browser to recognize return visits. We do not use this information to identify you personally.

If you reached us by scanning a QR code on one of our vehicles or signs, the link includes a tag telling us which one. That tells us the sign is working. It tells us nothing about you.

The service area checker

If you use the address checker on our service areas page, that address is sent to the US Census Bureau geocoding service so we can work out which side of a city limit line your home sits on. We use it for that lookup and nothing else. We do not store it, we do not attach it to you, and it does not put you on any list.

Our membership form

The form used to become a member is provided by Housecall Pro, the software we use to run our business. Information you enter there is submitted to Housecall Pro and shared with us. Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policy in addition to this one.

How we use your information

• To confirm whether your home is in an active service area
• To schedule and perform system evaluations, installations, and covered service
• To administer memberships, warranties, and referral credits
• To understand which parts of our site and signage are working

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we never have. We share it only with the companies that help us operate: our scheduling and customer software, the third-party warranty administrator that backs our 10-year coverage, our website host and analytics provider, and equipment suppliers when a specific job requires it. Each gets only what it needs to do its part.

One thing worth naming plainly, because it is not obvious: our BBB Accreditation seal is an image served by the Better Business Bureau rather than a copy stored on our site, so that it always shows our current rating. That means your browser requests it from the BBB on every page you visit here, and the BBB can see your IP address and which page you were on when it did. We send them nothing else, and clicking the seal is what takes you to our BBB profile.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety or legal rights of our customers, our team, or the public.

How long we keep it

We keep membership and installation records for as long as your warranty runs and as long afterward as tax and licensing rules require, since the warranty follows the equipment. Inquiries that do not turn into work are kept only as long as they are useful, then discarded.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@leanderhcs.com or call (512) 316-2790 and we will take care of it. If deleting something would break an active warranty or a legal obligation we have, we will tell you plainly rather than quietly refusing.

You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings. Analytics cookies are not required to use this site. You can also opt out of Google Analytics specifically using Google's browser add-on.

Children

This site is meant for homeowners. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Security

We use reputable service providers and take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us. No website or system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach ever affected your information, we would tell you.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be obvious, not buried.
