Ten Years
10 years.Parts and labor.Covered.
What it covers, what it does not, and exactly what keeps it active.
From your installation date
Of the labor on covered repairs
Service calls, travel, diagnostics
Most HVAC warranties cover parts. A compressor arrives free and the bill for fitting it does not.
Ours covers the labor too, for the full ten years, which is usually the larger of the two numbers.
What's Covered
Five things, for ten years.
Manufacturer-covered parts
Replacement parts under the manufacturer's warranty, provided the equipment has been properly maintained and the failure is not one the manufacturer excludes.
100% of the labor
Every hour of labor on a covered repair, for the full ten years. This is the part almost nobody else covers, and it is usually the larger number.
Diagnostic labor
The time spent working out what is wrong is covered too, not just the time spent fixing it.
Service calls and travel
All service call charges and travel on covered repairs. No labor charge reaches you on a covered claim.
Registration, done for you
We complete the manufacturer registration and warranty requirements on your equipment ourselves. Missing that step is one of the quietest ways a parts warranty gets voided, and plenty of homeowners never learn it was theirs to do. It is not yours to do here.
Which equipment it applies to
Qualifying new replacement systems installed by us. That covers the parts of the system that actually fail:
- Central air conditioning systems
- Heat pumps
- Gas furnaces
- Air handlers
- Compressors
- Indoor evaporator coils
- Outdoor coils
- Circuit boards
What's Not Covered
The exclusions, before you ask.
Every warranty has them. Most companies make you find them. Here they are, drawn from both the warranty document and the terms and conditions.
- Abuse, misuse, neglect, improper operation, vandalism or accidents
- Ordinary wear and tear, and components the manufacturer excludes
- Unauthorized repairs, alterations, modifications or attempted repairs
- Lightning, surges, brownouts and irregular or improper electrical supply
- Fire, flood, hail, wind, storms, earthquake and other natural events
- Damage caused by rodents, insects, vermin or other animals
- Corrosive, contaminated or otherwise abnormal environmental conditions
- Condensation or excessive humidity not caused by our workmanship
- Drain line blockages, freezing and water intrusion not caused by our workmanship
- Existing ductwork, duct board, transitions, insulation and air leakage outside our scope
- Existing equipment or components you choose to keep
- Existing refrigerant line sets we did not replace
- Existing gas piping outside the scope of the installation
- Mold, microbial growth and hazardous materials
- Cosmetic damage
- Refrigerant charges the manufacturer does not cover
- Air quality products and accessories, unless specifically listed
- Conditions that existed before installation
- Code upgrades and permit fees not included in the installation proposal
- Damage caused by third-party contractors or unauthorized service providers
- Equipment relocated from where it was installed without written authorization
- Damage resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information given to us
- Conditions outside the equipment and the installation that affect performance
- Equipment or components not named as covered in your replacement documents
Broadly: we cover the system failing. We do not cover the world happening to it. Your own paperwork is the full and final list, and we would rather you read this version first.
Let another company work on it and you put the labor coverage at risk
Repairs have to be done by us or authorized by us. Unauthorized repairs can void or limit the labor coverage, and they are grounds for ending it. The manufacturer's parts warranty is separate and survives either way. If someone else has already been out, tell us rather than not, and we will be straight with you about where it leaves things.
Keeping It Active
One condition, and it is the membership.
Both tiers carry the full warranty. What matters is that the membership stays active.
If the membership stops, the labor coverage can stop with it
You are not locked in, but it is worth understanding the trade. The labor portion of this warranty depends on an active membership in good standing. Any of these can end it:
- Membership lapses or is cancelled
- Membership fees are not paid when due
- Required maintenance is not completed
- Equipment is altered without authorization
- Unauthorized repairs are performed
- The property owner materially breaches the agreement
The manufacturer's parts warranty is separate and survives on its own terms. It is the labor, the part almost nobody else covers, that rides on the membership.
If you sell the house
Coverage does not transfer automatically with the house, but it can often be arranged. A transfer needs our written approval, an active membership for the new owner, and a transfer fee. The fee is set at the time of transfer, based on the years left on your ten and what the coverage is worth then. Call us before you close rather than after, and we will tell you exactly what is possible for your buyer.
Making A Claim
Four steps, and one phone number.
There is no claims department, no portal, and no third party to argue with first.
Call or email
(512) 316-2790 or info@leanderhcs.com. One number, and it reaches the same people who installed the system.
Confirm the basics
Your service address, proof of active membership, and the installation date if we ask for it.
We come and look
We inspect the equipment and confirm the repair is covered.
We fix it
Scheduled according to our scheduling policy and your membership's priority benefits. No labor charge reaches you.
How ten years is possible
The labor is performed by us. Behind it sits contingency cover through JB Warranties, a third-party warranty administrator, so the promise does not rest solely on one company's good intentions a decade from now. They administer and backstop the coverage. They never come to your house. Every visit is ours.
Everything on this page is a plain-language summary. The warranty document you receive at installation sets out what is covered, what is excluded and how claims work. Our terms and conditions govern the agreement as a whole, and if the two ever disagree, the terms and conditions control. Our terms of service says the same thing.
Leander & Cedar Park
Ten years is a long time to trust someone.
Which is why all of it is on this page instead of in an envelope you open after you have signed. Start with an evaluation and read the document before you commit to anything.
